The Office of Alumni Relations has implemented its first student and alumni online mentoring platform: Toro Connect!
Powered by Peoplegrove, the Toro Connect mentoring platform is a networking tool that connects current CSUDH students with Toro alumni across the country and around the world. In conjunction with the CSUDH Career Center and Educational Partnerships, the platform was created to help students get answers to a range of questions from those who have experienced it all before: Toro Alumni.
Toro Connect can be accessed via computer/laptop or smartphone. Based on user information provided, students can connect with alumni through matching degrees, industries, hobbies, or extra-curricular activities. The more information provided, the better the match! Once connected, the student and alumnus/na can exchange text-based messages on the platform at any time.
Alumni that are interested in volunteering their time and talents for either short-term or long-term mentoring are strongly encouraged to sign up. The platform is free and easy to use, with support and troubleshooting provided by the Alumni office. A wide range of mentoring resources are also available on the platform, so you don't have to be an expert in mentoring upon sign up. While alumni-to-student mentoring is the primary focus, peer-to-peer or alumni-to-alumni mentoring is also achievable on this platform.

Students are highly encouraged to sign up to join our Toro Connect platform. From first-year students to seniors, this platform may not only give you tips on how to ace a test or choose a club on campus, but it may also open many doors and provide paths to careers once seen as unattainable. Our students have a lot to gain from this platform, as alumni and other mentors have the knowledge to make college life less stressful and more rewarding.
